Nålbrev

Jag har alltid släpat runt mitt nålbrev i 1800-talsstil på evenemang, börjar fundera på att göra något mer tidsenligt. Men vad finns det egentligen? Om man inte vill ha nålhus och syskrin utan något i tyg?

Fel land, antagligen fel tid, och kanske fel samhällsklass, och jag vet inte hur pålitlig källan är, men i alla fall...:

The cover was flat and rectangular, and made from stiff embroidery, wood, metal, or even ivory or crystal: the ornamentation was often very rich. The actual booklet which carried the needles could be pulled down out of the case on a cord.
