Swordfish is the first annual event in Sweden for historical European martial arts. In 2006 it was held in Malmö, but this year we will carry on the torch in Gothenburg, on the Swedish west coast. It is held 2-4 November 2007 and hosted by Gothenburg Historical Fencing School, (GHFS).
Swordfish is unique in many ways. After only one year it has become known as a tough event, with intense training and a lot of different classes to attend. And although that is true for many events, Swordfish hosts instructors and classes that you will not find anywhere else as well as some more well-known faces. It is uniquely Scandinavian as well as European.
The event draws fencers, boxers, wrestlers and other martial artists from around the world during a time of year when there are few other events around. It is a great opportunity to come together, meet friends and train hard.
Swordfish 2007 will feature a lot more social events than last year. We have lecture halls, a pub, projector announcements and a designated hall for free sparring. Everything is gathered in the same facilities and you will not have to travel around to go to classes or to get some sleep. Restaurants are in close proximity to the event.
So join in on the fun and come to Gothenburg for a couple of days of inspiration, hard work and camaraderie.
