Greetings, I'm new to the list, and was wondering if anyone could help me?

I'm looking for information on Swedish late Migration-period clothing, say, around the early 700's. As a LH beginner, I wear a tunic and under tunic going about half way to my knees, and "poofy" pants that stop at the knee, with leg wraps the rest of the way. Is this accurate?

Also, are single-legged hose ok for this period?

It's not really my period, but you might find the book "The Högom Find and other Migration Period Textiles and Costumes in Scandinavia (Archaeology and Ennvironment 9, Högom Part II)" by Margareta Nockert, ISBN 91-7174-616-1 useful.

Just a note: the early 700s are called Vendel Period in Sweden.

The tunics are ok, but the 'poofy' pants i am not sure about...i also hope you know that they were only worn by the richest, for understandable reasons.
Single leg hose were introduced by the end of the 800c, but for vendel, i think that pants like those found in Thorsbjerg would be more appropriate. The leg wraps should also be ok, but i believe those were used more around what is now france and southern england.

I agree that the "poofy" pants are likely a status thing, you see them on Gotland Stones and in the Oseberg tapestry which makes me think that it's a display of wealth.
Leg wraps ("wickelbands" or "puttee") were found at Haithabu, not sure about Birka. They are discussed in Willy Groenman-van Waateringe's "Textiles from Haithabu Harbor" book (in German).
