Hej!
Jag har funderat en del över vilka belägg det finns för figursydda kläder under vikingatid. Med figursytt menar jag t.ex. insytt i midjan, men även ärmar som är anpassade efter axelns (!) form (som HV mönstret "vikingatida kvinnodräkt", inte fyrkants modellen alltså). Jag har själv inte hittat ett enda belägg för detta. Jag vill gärna ha tag på faktiska källor och hoppas någon här kan hjälpa mig?

Har nu kollat i mina anteckningar och du har helt rätt, det är Thorsbjergkjorteln. Tyvärr har jag ingen bild av den, och jag har inte hittat något på nätet som beskriver snörningen. Enligt mina beskrivningar ska den bestå av ullsnören i en av sidosömmarna som knyts ihop.

Här talas det om Egils kjortel, att den var av röd fustan som var trång i överdelen och "lás" brukar översättas med sidsnörning i detta fall...
-Men som sagt, det är nedskrivet efter vikingatidens slut.

Kjortel (tunika). K. drogs på över huvudet ned över underkläderna, var försedd med ärmar och hölls samman om livet med ett bälte.
Under äldre nordisk medeltid och även sannolikt under yngre järnålder var manskjorteln ett kort plagg. Kvinnokjorteln var däremot, sannolikt under vikingatid liksom under hela medeltiden ett långt plagg.
