Enkla mönster: Har du kikat på Carolyn Priest-Dorman's sidor ([url="http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~capriest/asvembroid.html"]här[/url] och [url="http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~capriest/vikembroid.html"]här[/url])?
Där tar hon bl.a. upp en enkel typ a broderat, upprepat flätmönster (bild [url="http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~capriest/image/mamnstch.gif"]här[/url]) på en kudde från Mammen-graven (sent 900-tal). Det är inte korsstygn, men det är ett enkelt, repeterat mönster...

Applikationer finns det relativt gott om (även om sådana termer alltid är en smula för vidlyftiga när det gäller textilarkeologi) - främst är det sidenkypert på ylle som gäller (t.ex. Oseberg och Björkö) - de är enkla att känna igen som applikationer. Ylleapplikationer på ylle är svårare att identifiera i fragmentariskt tillstånd men de finns som sagt ovan t.ex i osebergsfyndet (bild och text finns på en sida som en viss naturaliserad kiwi förtjänstfullt lagt upp [url="http://www.forest.gen.nz/Medieval/articles/Oseberg/dress/OSEBERG.HTM"]här[/url]).

Anne-Marie Franzen har en liten bok som du kan kopa bla pa akademibokhandeln, den visar medeltida broderistygn med ett litet diagram hur det sys och ett exempel pa anvandningen ur historiskas samlingar. jag rekommenderar den starkt som en introduktion till amnet.

kom ihag att stygnen ar mindre viktigt an anvandningen - att stjalksom ar vanligt over tusen ar innebar ju inte att den anvands pa samma satt. det ar kombinationen stygn, monster och anvandning som gor det HK.
