hmm..dette er ikke helt innenfor topic, men er det noen som har forsøkt å farge med islandslav? det skal gi rød farge om man etterbehandler garnet med ammoniakk (trad. var det kupiss).

Jodå, det har hänt några gånger på Bäckedal. Fast där skall garnet enligt recept sjudas i kourin (ca 50 grader). Ett test gav några röda prickar på garnet, annars har färgen konstant blivit just pissgul!
Jag hade tänkt testa sist jag gick där, men lyckades aldrig hitta någon ko. (Funderade på att använda vegankiss istället, men de ville inte ställa upp [:(])

Finns boken på ett bibliotek i Sverige (eller norden för den delen om man vill vara lite krångligare...) så går det att fjärrlåna både kors och tvärs! Fråga bibliotekarierna! Man spar mycket pengar och slipper chansa med inköpen!

En snabbkoll på LIBRIS ger att det finns ex på universitetsbiblioteken i Umeå, Göteborg, Linköping samt på Vitterheten i Stockholm.

I övrigt kan jag nog inte hjälpa dig, det är inte riktigt den kemi jag varit involverad i är jag rädd [:(]

konserverings förlag baserat i london. en guldgruva av intressanta böcker om material, föremål och konservering! vet inte om de har hunnit ge ut boken i paperback, för tyvärr brukar butterworths serien vara lite dyr. organic chemistry boken ligger nog kring 300-400. kommer inte ihåg vad jag betalade, det var nu en tio årsedan jag köpte den. textile conservation närmare 1000-lappen har jag för mig, har inte tagit mig råd att köpa den ännu (tänkte att museets bibliotek skulle få bekosta den och så kan jag få den deponerad hos mig istället!)

annars går det väl och låna boken via libris?

såg för övrigt att archetype även hade nedanstående bok som lät skojig...

sedan finns:
Chemical principles of textile conservation (Ágnes Tímár-Balázsy and Dinah Eastop, också Butterworth-Heinemann serien, minns dock inte utgivningsåret så här på rak arm)
var ett tag sedan jag lånade hem den, men tror att även den hade några bra kapitel om färgämnen.

De är som sagt inte specifikt inriktade på växtfärgning, men oerhört mycket mer fibrers och färgämnens kemi. jag hade stor glädje av dem när jag för 15 år sedan skrev ett projektarbete om ljushärdighet hos växtfärgade garner i jämförelse med syntetfärger…

borde finnas en mängd artiklar om textilfärgning som kan vara av intresse. men har tyvärr aldrig haft tid att söka just på detta område...
