Det är jättebra att tråden vände tillbaka till nålhusen igen. Vix - du kanske kan posta din referens som ett nytt ämne om axelband i hängselsärkar eller i någon av de trådar som tar upp dem. Jag vet att det kan kännas lite "träigt" att jag tjatar om ämnesspecifika diskussioner, men det blir lättare för alla att hålla reda på vad som sägs då och framförallt underlättas ämnes-sökningar.

En liten fundering också gällande axelbanden på en överklänning (vikingatida) var axelbanden gjorda av samma tyg eller var de brickvävda eller på annat sätt hop-påtade? kan inte minnas att det disskuterats någonstans här...

Jag tror att det varierar, men om jag minns rätt är "axelbanden" från Birkafynden troligtvis av linne. De små öglorna som ibland funnits på insidan av spännbucklorna brukar vara i linne (linnet är ju givetvis inte bevarat, utan nåt sorts rost-avtryck av linnet).
Men Nybjörn vet kanske mer?
