I should hav had some quotes and then a link (or somethign like that). I answered that it wasn't an article but a book review and that since I get them by mail subscription I didn't know where to link except giving people my email so I could send it to them, which I hadn't time to do. But since I apparently had done something wrong I deleted that entry.

If you do this (the way I imagine it from your post) you will be speaking modern Swedish with a couple of non-Swedish words thrown in, which will NOT be more similar to the language of the vikings than modern Swedish is. Swedish has developed from Old Norse, but it has lost a great deal of grammatical and syntactical complexity in that process. The result will be the lingustic equivalent of wearing a perfect reconstruction of a viking tunic, made from handspun and handwoven wool, along with jeans, sneakers, and a horned helmet, i.e. authentic is not quite the word...[:)]

Just go for Swedish for now, is my advice, and that knowledge will help if you want to move on to Old Norse in the future. I hope you'll succeed in your studies and won't get annoyed to death with the weird spelling and such [;)]
