Det finns ju olika åsikter om vad som skiljer en riddares rustning mot en topline yrkessoldat... min åsikt är att det enda som skiljar är passformen. En riddare har råd att köpa skräddarsytt, medans en soldat kanske håller tillgodo med secondhand. Jag kan inte tänka mig att en soldat avstår att köpa/plundra en rustningsdel för att 'bara riddare har det'. Är den sedan i något sånär rätt storlek är han nog intresserad av att använda den när han deltar i nästa batalj.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

Det var väl också så, åtminstone i somliga länder och perioder, att den soldat som kunde skrapa ihop utrustning som en <i>man-at-arms</i> de facto var uppgraderad till en sådan - dvs "riddare" till militär funktion om än inte till titel och status. De engelska och franska fria kompanierna var väl fulla av sådana om jag minns rätt.

Vi i AB är ju inte frontinfanteri utan mer 'specialister' såsom bössknektar. Vi har alltså inte full rustning utan någon sorts 'lättare rustning'. De flesta av oss saknar skydd för underarmar och ben.

Men vad hade dom på armar och ben? om dom hade nånting alls! Användes Splint-skydd fortfarande?
