Hur ska ett svärd gjort av kolstål förvaras?

Jag har läst att det ska förvaras insvept i tyg eller dylikt, är det då bara svärdet eller svärdet i skida.

Så, kan man förvara svärdet i trä-skida?

Många andra har skrivit att du ska olja in det. Jag tycker inte det behövs. jag har mitt svärd i träskida, utan att ha oljat in det. Lite oxidation blir det, men det går mycket lätt att putsa bort när man väl ska använda det. Olja tycker jag bara blir kletigt, dessutom torkar den efter ett tag och är då besvärlig att få bort.. Och om du fingrat på det så räcker det med att putsa med en gammal strumpa så det blir torrt.

Trodde f.ö. att jag redan skrivit det här inlägget. Undrar varför det inte syns i forumet? Tappades det månne bort i cyberrymden eller var det för anstötligt så att det togs bort?

Det har varnats för att förvara svärd i skida under längre tid eftersom dessa skulle kunna vara en fuktfälla. Jag har dock inte märkt av det, utan de har tvärtom fungerat bättre än att ha det inlindat i tyg, som ju släpper igenom mer syre varpå oxidationen ökar. Lite oxidation är dock inget farligt, det går lätt att ta bort, men man ska akta sig för riktiga rostangrepp.
